Installation Steps
Open the downloaded file
Find ATV Remote.dmg in your Downloads folder and double-click to open it.
Install Remote ATV
Drag the ATV Remote icon into your Applications folder.
Launch Remote ATV
Open ATV Remote from your Applications folder or using Spotlight (Cmd+Space).
Grant permissions
Remote ATV will ask for a few permissions to work properly. See all permissions →
macOS Security Notice
When you first launch Remote ATV, macOS Gatekeeper may show a warning because the app is downloaded from the internet. This is normal and expected.
If you see "ATV Remote can't be opened":
1. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security
2. Scroll down to find "ATV Remote was blocked"
3. Click "Open Anyway"
4. Click "Open" in the confirmation dialog

Local Network
Required to discover and communicate with your TV on the same Wi-Fi network. This is how Remote ATV sends commands to your Apple TV, Samsung TV, Roku, and other devices.
Accessibility
Required for global keyboard shortcuts so you can control your TV from any app without switching windows.
